!The Time To Fight! (Rough Draft)

Another day goes by, we wake up and we go to work or school, but that’s not all we do. Some of us may use products, take some medicines or eat some breakfast. We never think of how the  suppliers test there product so we know there safe. Animal rights are things that we never think about. Animals rights laws protect animals from forms of brutal or merciless treatment  of animals in medical and scientific research and in the handling of slaughter of animals for human consumption.

One person that took a stand was  Ingrid Newkirk. She started PETA with Alex Pacheco. The organization first caught the public’s attention in the summer of 1981 during what became known as the Silver Spring monkeys case, a widely publicized dispute. The case lasted 10 years, involved the only police raid on an animal laboratory in the United States, triggered an amendment in 1985 to that country’s Animal Welfare Act, and established PETA as an internationally known organization. Later sections of the movement nonetheless say that PETA is not radical enough such as when it companied the vegan lifestyle on all their supporters. Moving into the 2000s  their demands mellowed down and became more rational for the public. Today their support keeps growing everyday and so does their organization.

Animal rights is a constant world wide discussion. Most believe that it always will  be. We all have different views on the subject so we work to fight against it, work with it, or just ignore it all together. PETA is just one of the many organizations fighting for animal rights and will continue to be until the reach their ideal mission goal.
